Lakes
The real protagonists of our area. Of course the Lake Maggiore with the Borromean Islands, bu also Lake Orta and the Saint Giulio Island and the small Lake Mergozzo.
Mountains
If the lakes are kings, the mountains are the queens of our area. You can find trekking paths suitable for all seasons and experience, as well as mountain-bike trails and climbing routes.
◊ The association Terre Alte Laghi (TAL) provides on its website detailed information about many itineraries in the area.
Protected Areas
Nature surrounding us is an invaluable resource and there are many natural parks which aim to protect and promote it.
◊ The Natural Reserve of the Sacred Mount of Ghiffa is reachable within a short walk from the apartment.
◊ The Val Grande National Park, and its wild core (the biggest wilderness area in Italy) is just a few kilometers from home.
◊ A bit further you can reach the Ossola Protected Areas, the Veglia-Devero and the Antrona Valley Natural Parks.
Culture
◊ The local Museo del Paesaggio aims to be the focal point for the art in Verbania. It has a wide selection of works of the impressionist sculptor Paolo Trubetzkoy, and temporary exhibitions.
◊ The Maggiore Theatre hosts many music, dance and theatrical events in a marvelous framework on the Lake Maggiore. You ca find here the calendar of the shows.
◊ From July to September Stresa hosts the renowned Stresa Music Festival.
Kids
◊ In the Villa Pallavicino Park you can find many animals, a farm and many playgrounds surrounded by nature, for a memorable day.
◊ Swimming pools, beach, water slides, rope bridges, trampolines… for a super fun day for children and a relaxing one for their parents. You can find this at the Aquadventure Park of Baveno.
Other attractions
◊ The Botanical Gardens of Villa Taranto host a wonderful variety of plants and flowers, directly on the shores of the Lake Maggiore.
◊ Lago Maggiore Zipline makes you fly for almost two breathtaking kilometers over the mountains surrounding the Lake Maggiore.
◊ Alpyland is a sort of roller coaster descending the Mottarone offering adrenaline and an amazing view on the Lake Maggiore. Suitable also for children.
◊ The Thermal Baths and SPA in Premia are the best way to start or conclude a visit in the Ossola area.
◊ The Lago Maggiore Express is a tour combining ferry and a panoramic train. You will enjoy a full immersion in our area, from the Ossola Area, the Swiss Canton of Ticino and the Italian shores of the Lake Maggiore.
